Borrowed Euphoria
A poem on joy that visits, and sorrow that stays
It made a comeback.
On days when
I started to feel the joy
Living a little with some coy.
Then I saw
The grief standing on the door
Staring at me, all bored.
Suddenly,
I was filled with sorrow
Like two old friends reunited
And flames of agony ignited
While the euphoria looked borrowed
Happiness in my case
Was a transaction
My soul craved for
Misery in fractions
Even on days
Filled with love and affection,
I looked for affliction.
Maybe I found a home in sadness.
Maybe that was my madness.

Sometimes people can't see themselves without sadness and grief 😭
"Then I saw
The grief standing on the door
Staring at me, all bored."
it never really leaves, does it?
